Triathlon equipment, made for your performance
As is well known, triathlon combines three sports, which is why you may initially fear that you will have to buy extensive equipment with countless individual parts before you even walk your first meter. But don't worry, you can reduce your triathlon equipment to the bare essentials to start with, as long as you focus on the essentials.
In addition to the obvious bicycle , ideally a racing bike, you need padded cycling shorts and a functional shirt, whether short or long is up to you in both cases. You also need a helmet for your safety even at high speeds.
For running you need a second pair of pants, this time running pants that, in contrast to cycling pants, do not have a seat pad and, at best, have compressive properties. Good running shoes are essential, functional socks are very practical to complement your outfit - on the running track as well as on the bike.
For non-professionals, a bathing suit or swimming trunks, together with swimming goggles and a swimming cap, are sufficient for your part of the training session in the water.
As soon as your training gets more intense and your competitive intentions more serious, we recommend a triathlon suit. Here it is worth investing in the piece of clothing that you will wear in all three disciplines. You don't have to worry about a speed suit or wetsuit and you can continue to wear your tri suit on the bike and when running. It also makes sense to add cycling gloves to your equipment for better grip on the handlebars and protection for your hands. You can complement your running and cycling clothing with a light jacket. With a hat or cap, arm warmers and functional sunglasses, you are equipped for any weather.
Last but not least, a good form belt and a light drinking bottle can also make your training easier.
